The typical small or home
business web site consists of 3 to 6 pages, although sites as small
as one page (see Artsy Ears)
and larger
than six pages are common. We are usually able to have a new web
site ready for publication to the Internet within two weeks of the
time the order is placed. We publish your website only after we have your
approval.
You will be able to view your website on your own computer as it develops and provide us with
suggestions and requests.
EMH Secure Order Forms: If you are
going to to sell products or services from your web site, a custom
designed order
form (up to 18 items per form) can be a convenient way for you to accept customer orders.
Information entered into your order form is
sent to you by email when the
customer clicks on the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the order form. If
you are able to take credit
card orders, we can set up a secure (SSL, see next paragraph) order
form
for you so that you can safely accept the
required credit card information. There is no extra charge for SSL.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a method of ensuring that
information entered through a web site is protected from prying
eyes. With SSL, information submitted on the web is first encrypted
and submitted securely over the Internet, and then decrypted on the
receiving end. SSL is most commonly used for credit card
transactions but it can also be used for any sensitive data.
By convention, the addresses of web pages that are transmitted using SSL
start with https instead of http. This feature provides privacy,
authentication and message integrity.
PayPal Shopping Cart:
We will install and maintain a PayPal Shopping Cart (for up to twenty four (24)
items) on your web site for only $10 per month. There is no setup fee. With a PayPal Shopping Cart your customers can purchase multiple items with
a single payment, browse your entire selection, and view a
consolidated list of all their items before purchasing. The PayPal
Shopping Cart requires a no-cost verified PayPal account. The PayPal
Shopping Cart is a low-cost way for you to accept credit card and
bank account (electronic funds transfer) payments. PayPal
automatically notifies you when payment has been made and provides
you with the buyer's shipping address. A PayPal shopping cart makes it easy for your customers to make payment, and
makes it unnecessary for you to process credit cards yourself.
Caretaker Editing: Caretaker Editing is included with web hosting
at no extra charge and covers routine edits and updates in your
website, such as making changes in your page text, photos, contact form, dates, rates, product or service pricing, contact
information, links etc. Edits and updates are made promptly, at your
request. Caretaker Editing does not include the addition of new
pages, new features, or the ongoing maintenance of order forms or
shopping carts.
Search Engine
Optimization: Search engine optimization is an integral part
of good website design. We have been optimizing websites for
Internet search engines since 2001. We believe that we have
developed considerable expertise in that time, and we continue to
refine our search engine optimization skills. We optimize all page
elements necessary to successfully compete for high level positions
on Internet search engines. There is
no extra charge for search engine optimization.
Payment Policies:
A 50% non-refundable deposit on your order is required, with the
balance due when your web site is ready for publication to the
Internet. If you like, you can start with a one page site, and
expand it as your business grows. We can add additional pages or
advanced features to your site at any time. You can make payment
by check or money order directly to eMaineHosting or, if you prefer
to pay by credit card, you may make payment thru
PayPal. Our email address for
PayPal payment is
webs@emainehosting.com. You may request a refund within 30 days
of the start date of your first six month hosting cycle. We will refund
up to one half of the total amount you paid eMaineHosting. Deposits are non-refundable.
Biannual Billing: Hosting and other applicable fees are payable
biannually (every 6 months). Your 6 month cycle is calculated from
the first day of the
month following the date on which your web site was
initially published to
the Internet. This means, for example, that if your web site was
first published on May 17, your next due date would be six months from
June 1.
You are billed according to the schedule outlined in the
above paragraph, by email, approximately 2 weeks before your due date.
Accounts with Hosting or other applicable fees
not paid by the first day of the month which follows the account due date
(i.e., which are more than 30 days overdue) are subject to
suspension by eMaineHosting. This policy applies to all
fees that are overdue, including fees for added
pages, JavaScripts, secure forms, shopping carts, edits, or other EMH products or services.
eMaineHosting will not be responsible for losses due to any
eMaineHosting client's non-payment of fees.
eMaineHosting will not be responsible for losses related to the non-renewal of domain names due to non-payment of fees,
for losses due to problems
with domain name dependent email accounts, or for any other losses which are due to causes beyond the control of eMaineHosting.
A reactivation fee of
$20 will be added to the amount due for clients who wish to resume hosting services after
suspension of services due to unpaid fees.
eMaineHosting clients may request termination
of services by providing a written
request (by letter or by email). The request must be
received by eMaineHosting
at least one week (7 days) in advance of your next due date in order to avoid
paying a final month’s web hosting fee.
If you are not satisfied with our
services you may request a refund from eMaineHosting LLC. We must
receive your refund request in writing by US Mail or by Email within
30 days of the date on which your website was initially published to
the Internet (the starting date of your first 6 month hosting
cycle). We will refund up to one half (50%) of the amount you
paid eMaineHosting LLC up to the date on which your website was
initially published. Your 50% deposit on the estimated cost of the
website, and
