AIRLINE RIDERS SNOWMOBILE CLUB, 2013-2018

Snowmobiling is a popular winter activity in Maine. Sledding contributes to the economy of the state as both residents and non-residents take to the trails that span the state. Studies show that the sport of snowmobiling continues to grow each and every year. Snowmobiling is great fun, good for the economy, and accounts for many full time jobs in the state.

Trail Update

Update for Airline Riders Snowmobile Club, Oct. 29, 2018

Hello riders ! The season will be on us before we know it. Hopefully this year will be one of steady moderate snowfall, without the warm spells in between so the trails can be maintained for the best riding.

The first meeting will be on Nov. 12, 2018, following the last atv club meeting on the same night. Don’t forget that our meetings are now held at the Beddington town building & firehouse on Rte. 193 due to the schedule conflict with the snack bar. They will still begin at 6 pm on the second Saturday of the season. Elections will be held at this time for the snowmobile club, terms will run for 2 years.
We are hoping to have David Bridges back with us in some capacity after his 2 year “vacation” due to his leg injury and continuing surgeries. Unfortunately, he had to have his leg amputated above the knee in the fall, but, knowing David, we don’t expect it to slow him down too much!

More updates to follow. Any questions, call Frank at 454-8133 or Pete at 460-4474.DON’T DRINK AND RIDE!!! SLOW DOWN. BETTER TO SEE THE SCENERY THAN BECOME PART OF IT.

NOTICE: SUNRISE TRAIL IS CLOSED. WALKERS ONLY!

Ride safely, and be sure you have emergency supplies and warm clothing with you. It can be dangerously cold out there! Frank and Maryann have sold the diner and the new owners, Lance and Dianne, are continuing to welcome sledders for gas, meals, and a parking area.

MPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL SNOWMOBILE RIDERS!
Snowmobilers MUST STOP riding on the blueberry fields because the landowners WILL close the trails. Don’t be the one who loses trails for all of us. Stay on marked trails.

Come see us at the Snackbar on Rt. 9 in Beddington for homemade pies and cakes. Ride Safe!

Remember to watch for signs as some routes have been adjusted at AFM’s request. Pop over to 505 at Deer Lake outlet and check out the new bridge we needed to put in. The atv bridge previously there could not sustain the weight of the groomers, and did not have the width to get the job done. This is the bridge made with 40’ steel beams put in place with the invaluable assistance of the Madden Logging crew. The planking is all done, side rails in place.

Ride safe. The diner will be keeping the coffee on and the pies coming so stop on by.
